New Kennel Facility Progress
Love is to the heart what the summer is to the farmer's year - it brings to harvest
all the loveliest flowers of the soul.

We are well into the dog days of summer. It has been a hot
one and the dogs have made good use of their wading pools and the shade trees. If given the opportunity while in the
play area (the “corral” to those of you who are well-acquainted with us), they like to use their water –
intended for drinking purposes - to make mud pies, mud holes and just plain mud. Labs love food, water, mud, sticks
and people….not necessarily in that order.
The building is nearing completion! Dennis and the boys
have made incredible progress and are truly giving their all for these four-legged family members. The concrete pours
(four in all) went very well thanks to the incredible efforts of our concrete crew – Dennis, Zack, Caleb, Mike, Cody,
Zack, Matt, Timothy, Jonathan and Daniel. What a team!! We have decided that a true friend is someone who will
float concrete with you when the heat index is 102 degrees or higher.
Electric is being wrapped up; fixtures, fans and security system installed; kennel components will be erected and then
moving day will be upon us. We’re shooting for a move-in date of September 1st. The summer has passed like a vapor….we were blessed to participate in the Granville Fourth of July parade
again this year. Clay decided that if it is 90 degrees next year, he would rather stay home and play in his pool.
Tommy and Sarah participated in the Miami Valley LRC Specialty in May. Tommy took 4th place in American Bred
Dogs…we were thrilled and humbled to say the least. We were completely blown away as we participated in the Northern
Ohio LRC Specialty in August – Tommy took 1st place in American Bred Dogs in a class of seven beautiful dogs; Bliss
took 4th place in 12-15 month bitches in a class of eight…..her VERY FIRST show! Enjoy the remainder of summer…..autumn seems to be on our doorstep……
